Rugged portable FBG Interrogator

Optical fiber sensors based on Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBG) are used to monitor stress, changes in temperature or pressure. Bridges, foundations of wind turbines or blades and safety fences are often equipped with fibers. Those fibers usually contain several FBGs. In this way changes can be measured and localized quickly. In order to interrogate the sensors the new Fiberstrike Module from Cleveland Electric Labs is easy and ready to use. It is portable, rugged and accommodates up to 8 channels.

Data collection works via local USB storage, Ethernet or Wi-Fi managed by the FiberStrike GUI and battery operation lasts up to 30 hours continuous via ethernet or local USB or up to 28 hours continuous operation via Wi-Fi. This makes checking of FBG sensors very easy.
